My Why.
I grew up on a council estate in a steel town.
The skyline was steel works. Smoke filled the air.
Generations of families worked there.
Whether people realised it or not, it created a special kind of person, people like us. Resilient.Hardworking. Proud. The kind of people who kept showing up no matter what life through at them.
Over time the steel work disappeared and the skyline changed. But I started noticing that same resilience everywhere. In the early shifts. The long days and nights. The people living from pay check to pay check. Carrying weight and responsibility, that no-one sees, without applause.
The ones that don't always win, but never give up. Steel City Tough was built to represent those people , the ones they call ordinary.
To those that live it.
wear it with pride.
